The Bridger Coil Spring Trap #1.75 is an excellent choice for a trapper who hunts mixed species, such as fox, coyote, bobcat, racoon, and more. It comes with a night latch dog and heavy swivels. It features a double=posted pan, straight link machine chain, and an added baseplate with a D-ring. The jaw spread inside is 4-3/4" and 5-1/8" outside.

Bridger 1.75 coils spring closed jaws

Here was my issue. Only one out of the dozen I bought was what I would consider an acceptable trap. The jaws did not line up square and plumb. One jaw was lower or higher than the other. Not much, but 1/16 of an imch seemed like a lot of jaw tolerance. The jaws appeared to me to not be seated in there holes in the base plate. I tried to line them up. Played with the levers. I set them all and tried to force them by hand into what I would of considered within MY tolerance. The traps work fine. The way the jaws meet just not right. I emailed Keith, he gave me Bridgers customer service number. Nice guy named Rob. He told me they were like that do to operating tolerance and be loose to operate. Told him I didn't buy that. He sent me 11 replacement bridger 1.75 traps all were square and flush! I degreased and dyed them today. The 11 that go back are waiting for a shipping label. I think those 11 need to go back to Korea. All in all the experience wasn't bad. Keith was great. Rob was great. The dozen traps I received were not. Customer service and shipping were outstanding. I have some victor number 2 double long springs. All are square and flush. They are over a 100 years old. I have a dozen blake and lamb undersprings. Flush and square again belonged to my grandfather bought in early 1900s. I just bought a dozen duke 1.5s I do not like these traps, but when they close, the jaws are square and flush. I bought big pans for the bridger 1.75s. The replacements bridgers will catch fur.

My pick for a multi species trap. Beds easy and I like the night latch.
